Ministry of Energy
The Ministry of Energy ensures a reliable, affordable, and clean energy supply for Ghana's households, businesses, and industries. It oversees petroleum, natural gas, electricity generation, and the expansion of renewable energy sources.
What we do
The Ministry of Energy powers Ghana. We oversee the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity across all sixteen regions. GNPC manages Ghana’s oil and gas resources offshore. The Energy Commission licenses energy providers and sets efficiency standards. We are expanding solar and other renewables to reduce the cost of power and reach communities not yet on the national grid. Reliable, affordable energy is our commitment to every Ghanaian household and business.
