Ministry of Food and Agriculture
The Ministry of Food and Agriculture promotes sustainable agricultural development to ensure food security, increase farm incomes, and grow Ghana's agri-business sector. It supports farmers with inputs, extension services, and access to markets.
What we do
The Ministry of Food and Agriculture feeds Ghana and grows its economy. We provide extension officers who help farmers adopt better practices, manage the national strategic grain reserve, and run irrigation schemes to reduce dependence on rain-fed farming. We regulate agricultural inputs so farmers get genuine seeds and fertilisers. Our goal is a food-secure, commercially driven farming sector where every farmer earns a fair income.
