Ministry of Health
The Ministry of Health develops and oversees Ghana's health policy, ensures quality healthcare services are available nationwide, and manages the agencies that deliver and regulate healthcare. It drives universal health coverage through the National Health Insurance Scheme.
What we do
The Ministry of Health protects and improves the health of every Ghanaian. We oversee the Ghana Health Service, which runs hospitals and clinics across the country. The National Health Insurance Authority provides the NHIS card so you can access healthcare without paying out of pocket at the point of service. The Food and Drugs Authority keeps medicines, food, and medical devices safe and effective. Our goal is universal health coverage by 2030.
