Ministry of Works and Housing

The Ministry of Works and Housing develops and maintains government infrastructure, manages public buildings and housing estates, and expands access to affordable housing for all Ghanaians. It oversees water supply infrastructure alongside the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources.

What we do

The Ministry of Works and Housing builds and maintains Ghana’s public infrastructure. The Public Works Department manages government buildings and public facilities. The State Housing Company develops affordable homes so more Ghanaians can own where they live. We also coordinate with local government on physical planning to ensure communities grow in an orderly, safe way. Our vision is a Ghana where every family has a decent, secure home.
