Ghana.GOV portal reaches 2 million registered users milestone

The Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation confirms that the Ghana.GOV digital services platform has surpassed 2 million registered citizen accounts, with over 1.3 million service transactions completed in the first quarter of 2026.

The Ghana.GOV platform crossed 2 million registered citizen accounts on 1 April 2026, marking a significant milestone in the government’s digital transformation agenda. The platform, powered by GhanaConnect — Ghana’s national digital identity and authentication service — allows citizens to access government services without visiting a physical office.

In the first quarter of 2026 alone, citizens completed 1.3 million service transactions on the platform. The most-used services were passport renewal pre-qualification, Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) tax clearance certificate requests, and National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) card renewal. Mobile access accounts for 87 percent of all sessions, consistent with Ghana’s predominantly mobile internet usage.

The Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation has set a target of 5 million registered accounts by December 2026. To support this, the GhanaConnect enrolment process will be available offline at all 292 National Identification Authority (NIA) registration centres and at all Ghana Post offices nationwide.

Citizens who have not yet registered can visit any Ghana Post branch or NIA centre with their Ghana Card to create an account. Assistance is available in English, Twi, Ewe, Ga, and Dagbani.
