Apply for National Service posting

Apply for your National Service Scheme (NSS) posting after completing a tertiary programme. Service is mandatory for Ghanaian graduates under the National Service Act, 2006 (Act 426).

Before you apply

Register on the NSS portal using the same details on your Ghana Card. Your institution must verify your completion status online before the portal will accept your application.

Step by step

1. Visit nss.gov.gh and create or log in to your account.
2. Enter your personal and academic details and upload required documents.
3. Submit your application within the current registration window.
4. Your institution reviews and endorses your academic records online.
5. NSS assigns your posting and publishes the placement list.
6. Download your posting letter and report to your assigned institution on the stated start date.

After you are posted

Report to your posting organisation with your letter and Ghana Card. Attend the orientation at the start of service. Your monthly allowance is paid through the NSS payroll — keep your bank details up to date on the portal.
