Apply to receive your monthly SSNIT pension when you reach retirement age, or claim invalidity or survivors' benefits if you or your dependants qualify.
Before you apply
Request your full contribution statement from SSNIT at least 3 months before your expected retirement date. Confirm that all contributions are correctly recorded — any gaps must be resolved with your former employers before the claim is filed.
Step by step
- Visit any SSNIT branch office with your full set of documents.
- Complete the pension application form with the assistance of a SSNIT officer if needed.
- Submit all documents and receive an acknowledgement slip with a reference number.
- SSNIT will review and compute your benefit and notify you of the outcome.
- Once approved, your monthly pension is paid directly to your bank account.
After you apply
SSNIT pays pensions monthly to your registered bank account. Notify SSNIT promptly if you change your bank account. Annual proof-of-life checks may be required to continue receiving payments.
